Deary
deary me! I've slapped my own wrists for
neglecting my poor site for over seven months
now... I think it was partly due to realising
what a mammoth task the tune section would be,
even just to catch up on, never mind add new
releases. This isn't really an update, more of an
acknowledgement that something is going to be
done in the near future.
Quite a lot's happened since the end of
February... God, I really can't believe it's been
that long since I update-, I've just been putting
it off and off and off..
Heaven FM went back to the heavens and a rather
hefty stork dropped a new baby in the shape of
Pure FM on the doorstep of Hull, but teething
problems meant (and still mean at the time of
typing) intermittent periods of transmission...
but whenever it was on, it was always good
quality. New DJs came and old faces left, people
gained, changed and lost their respective
residencies... indeed, I appear to be homeless
once more.
However a few nights may be in the pipeline from
my associates, so keep an eye out...
It's quite funny looking back on the last update
I did and actually seeing what changes have taken
place in the last half a year.
Operation Blade outlived my expectations, SuReal
slipped further and further back in my box. Hard
house and trance moved further and further apart
on the commercial scene. House got funkier.
Classics got harder to get hold of. Bass House
became Chapel House and nobody really noticed.
And just when the hell did Luckies Bar close?
Aparently it was ages ago and I really didn't
notice.
Some filthy urchin stole 'Ain't No Sampling Us
Now' from my record box and I have no chance of
ever finding another copy. Loads more records
acquired scratches at really important places,
usually in the middle of a mix. I started liking
'Scorchio'. I stopped liking Lime Bacardi
Breezers. I still don't like kidney beans.
Everybody misses Oasis. Fridays got quieter,
Saturdays got busier. This year's students are
very, very ugly.
Plenty of things have changed in the last few
months alright... except this bloody web site.
I'll do something to it soon, I promise. Take it
